I ended up covered in bug bites after spending one night there. I'm not quite sure if they were bed bugs or spider bites. Also it states breakfast included but it is a very small selection.
The location. The hotel is in the most photographed part of a town that is one of the most interesting in Europe.
The hotel is above a restaurant which has an excellent "local" menu which is very reasonable both in value and in quality. As it is situated directly opposite the Belfry, the most recognisable landmark in Bruges, the terrasse is a very pleasant place to sit with a cold biere watching the world go by! The staff were extremely friendly and all spoke excellent English. Continental breakfast is included in the price.
Parking is difficult in the very centre of Bruges and as its name suggests the Central is right at its heart. One has to wheel or carry luggage through the restaurant as there is no rear entrance to the building and no cars, apart from taxis, are allowed on the main square. The stairs are steep and fairly narrow leading to the rooms so the hotel is not really suitable for anyone with limited mobility but that is to be expected in a medieval building! the inclusive breakfast is adequate though not particularly extensive or imaginative: processed cheese, processed ham and various forms of bread and cake. For the price it was fine.
Location was great, literally on the market. Beds were also fine. And the breakfast was great as well, fresh bread and croissants, lovely!
Room was simple but as expected it, so ok. But the toilet, ....how can you make a wall almost directly in front of the toilet, I could hardly sit there!
The downstairs restaurant area was very warm and cosy and the young guy behind the bar was friendly and welcoming.
On arrival there was no record of our booking, and we were offerd a room without a bathroom as an alternative, which we refused. We showed the gentleman our booking confirmation and after a while we were given the room we had booked. The bedrooms were sparse to say the least, the pillows were flat, and the heating was turned off during the day,so the room was damp when you returned. There was no TV, no tea or coffee facilities, no chair and no comfort. There were dead mosquitos on the ceiling, mould on the bathroom window ledges and the net curtain kept falling down. Whilst we were there was a problem with the electricity and there was no hot water or heating during one evening, which meant we could not shower.
The staff was generally unhelpful. Every time we asked a question, they made it seem as if we were an inconvenience to them. The day we checked out, the staff begrudgingly offered to "store our bags" while we did some sightseeing. When we came back, our bags were thrown behind the bar in a room full of patrons. This is nothing more than a cafe with expensive rooms above it. The overnight guests receive the lowest level of attention. Plan accordingly.
As the name suggests, it is very central. We had the chance to stay in the largest room (the room without a number) with a superb terrace on second floor. Lots of beer choices and a very good breakfast with delicious small croissants included in the room price.
Location was perfect. Hotel was modern and clean. Staff was great to deal with. Breakfast was very good and having a restaurant out front was really handy. Good experience overall.
Excellent location, helpful staff, bathroom was modern, clean and spacious.
My room could have been nicer with a TV and little bit of colour: everything looked the same, wallpaper and curtains were old-fashioned and sallow.
it was central
the bed was very bad....we could not sleep well and we had back pain afterwards. it was an adventure for us.
It was in the city centre, good location.
The cleaner didn't come to clean our room even though we stayed 2 nights there. We got numerous bites from bed bugs which we still have after 5 days. The room doesn't have a kettle, tea or cofee. We didn't get any fresh towels at all, and our room was next to the toilet. There wasn't any bedside cabinet or bedside lamp, only the main one. The smell from the kitchen was pretty strong in our room.
The availability of meals in a good restaurant at the hotel where we staying. Therefore the weather could not exert any adverse effects!
Our mistake: We didn't ask whether there was a lift [elevator] when we booked. There wasn't and it proved difficult for my wife who was recovering from a torn ligament. [Note that we never looked up any guest reviews]
The Hotel was, as the name suggest, central and fed on the touristic feel of the central square in Brugge. I must say that dinner was excellent and dinning overlooking the busy square was worth the journey to Belgium.
The room was clean but only had minimum on siute facilities. The only window in the room looked out to walls and othe buildings. The area outside thge window was covered with old cigarette ends where peaple hadsomed in the room leaning out of the window. The frosted glass panel in the entance door of the room allowed passers-by to see into the room giving a feeling of insecurity. We hung a towel over the door.
As the name suggests, it is in a fantastic central location, right in the heart of the town. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Nice food.
Room was Very small, with no "extras" like TV, tea/coffe or even a chair ! All rooms at the back of the hotel, so even though it is on the central square, none of the rooms have views. They all overlook the building site at the rear.
The location is good for sightseeing and easy to be found when you first get to the city center.
There is no shampoo available in the bathroom. Only has soap. The extra pillows were placed on the floor in the closet. There are many mosquitos mark on the walls and ceiling.
